The Mission of the Chowchilla Elementary School District is to provide each student a superior education in a safe and positive climate that promotes high academic performance, personal responsibility and respect for self and others.
The Chowchilla Elementary School District staff have taken on three key ideas to help us accomplish our mission.First, our staff is COMMITTED TO EXCELLENCE (C2E).As you venture around the District you may encounter C2E. We are a learning community which strives to answer the question, "How can we better support our students in performing well academically, gaining personal responsibility and respect for themselves and others?" Everyday conversations amongst staff as well as, with students and parents are used to collect information to aid this effort.POUND THE ROCK is the second concept taken from Jacob Riis, a man touted by Theodore Roosevelt as "the most useful citizen of New York". Riis wrote...“When nothing seems to help, I go look at a stonecutter hammering away at his rock perhaps a hundred times without as much as a crack showing in it. Yet at the hundred and first blow it will split in two, and I know it was not that blow that did it, but all that had gone before.”Here in Chowchilla Elementary School District, we know we are helping to shape the citizens of tomorrow. We may not see the benefit of every action taken today, but trust that over time, doing what is right will pay huge dividends.RANDOM ACTS OF KINDNESS is the final key idea of focus. Research has born out that genuine acts of kindness will nuture positive traits in others. Taking a few moments to reinforce positive behaviors will most likely spur on more positive behaviors. Capturing these moments is a focus of our staff.
